Aircraft Maintenance trainees required to complete 6 months of On Job Training (OJT) from a DGCA approved aviation organization to in order to complete his 2 and half years of AME course. This training is mandatory for the AME students with the AME course. So they can utilize their aeronautical theoretical knowledge practically when they join in this aviation organization in which aircraft servicing and operations are carrying out.
During this On Job Training (OJT) period AME candidates have to maintain a log book which records the practical experiences they gain from the organization and it must be signed by the chief engineer or authorized person who is in charge of the operations in that particular organization. This log book represents the proof of aviation experience of the trainee AME and which is very important in his career. At the time of course completion, this log book must be presented before the chief instructor of the training institute to get the AME course completion certificate.
