Airlines Engineering Stores Procedure

Engineering stores is meant for the issue of spares to the line maintenance department for which below are the some points which needs to be followed while issuing the spares.

  • Basically the spares are broadly classified into three categories as consumables, rotable and tools.
  • On receipt of the spares either from other stations or from the vendors receipt entry has to be made in the incoming register.
  • Spares are to be issued only upon the request from the LMD and the requisitions are to be taken by the means of requisition slips and through the system.
  • Certain spares will be having shelf life expiry, in that case shelf life expiry register has to be updated.
  • After issuing the spares, issue entry has to been made in the BIN cards as well as in the system.
  • If rotable item is issued ON, OFF details needs to be entered in the ON- OFF register.
  • Ensure that all the spares are accompanied with the tags.
  • Items related to petroleum, oil, lubricants should be places in a separate area and to be closely monitored about the shelf life receipt and issues.
  • If any spare has to be transferred out to other station based on the requisition same has to update in the system. BIN card and the dispatch register.
  • As far as tools are concerned need to check the calibration due date of the particular item and to make the necessary arrangements to send the unit for calibration and follow up for the same for the replenishment
