NACIL, which runs Indian Airlines, Air India E Alliance, has awarded company Ramco Systems to maintain, repair, and overhaul aircraft operations. Air India will soon bring all a MRO facility functions under IT platform, Ramco's, to aircraft availability, ensure turnaround times, reduce costs and improve general effectiveness. Ramco's software will automate several businesses like line maintenance a assurance.
This would enable to generate additional even up more third-party MRO jobs. Things are looking up, according to Kamesh Ramamoorthy, Chief Operating Officer of Ramco. Improving market conditions in the last two quarters following the disastrous 2009 for the aviation industry is seeing Ramco gain a foothold for its MRO offerings in both the overseas and domestic segments. He said, “We will announce a couple of mega deals in the aviation segment in the coming months. Ramco is hoping for about 50 per cent growth in the business especially from India, West Asia and North Africa.” Ramco Systems' standalone revenue increased by 12.33 per cent in the year ended March 31, 2010, of which close to 40% comes from India.
