Job for AME in Aviation Industry

AME is the aircraft maintenance engineer who maintains the aircraft in serviceable condition. He has the responsibility to service the aircraft and continues its service in airworthy condition.

AME is the person who certifies the aircraft after maintenance, that the aircraft is fit for flight. The pilot reports the complaints occurring in the aircraft and AME rectify the complaint reported and certify it. There will be technicians who are assisting AME. The difference between AME and Aircraft technicians is they are licensed persons who are having much experience than technicians.

The other jobs of AMEs are

1. Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
2. Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
3. Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
4. Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
5. Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
6. Using mathematics to solve problems.
7. Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
8. Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
9. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
10. Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
11. Inspection and Maintenance 
12. Taxiing of Aircraft 
13. Repair of structural damages 
14. Certification of flight 
15. Engine overhaul and maintenance
